Overview
Description: During this project, you will research a natural landmark in Iceland and explain how geological processes led to its formation. You will learn how to interpret topographic maps and 3D print a topographic map of your landmark. You will summarize and present information about your landmark using social media and a QR code. This project includes five lessons: Introduction to Topography, Topography of Iceland, 3D Print a Topographic Map, Create a Travel Guide, and Visit Iceland Day. This project was developed in partnership with Icelandic Glacial and takes approximately 4.5 hours to complete.
Standards: This project aligns to Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, Next Generation Science Standards, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and Florida CPALMS Standards for sixth grade through eighth grade.
