Overview

Overview
Description: During this project, students will learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals that focus on seventeen of the most urgent global issues. These goals encompass a wide range of interconnected issues, from eradicating poverty and hunger to promoting quality education, clean energy, and climate action. Students will explore these global priorities, gaining a deeper understanding of the complex social, economic, and environmental factors at play. After this initial exploration, each student (or group) will select one goal that resonates with them. They will then embark on a creative design process, applying design thinking principles to develop an innovative solution that contributes to achieving their chosen goal. Then students create a physical product, write a business plan for an innovative company, design a new app…the solution is up to them!
Standards: This project aligns to Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts, Next Generation Science Standards, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and Florida CPALMS Standards for sixth grade through twelfth grade.
