Exploring 2D and 3D Objects
Lower Elementary School
3D Printer, Laser Cutter/Engraver
Description: During this project, students will use laser cut and 3D printed objects to explore 2D and 3D objects. They will identify everyday examples of 3D objects, count the faces, edges, and vertices of 3D objects, and trace 3D objects to see the corresponding 2D shapes.
Distance Learning: This project includes an in-person learning and a distance learning option. The in-person learning option requires a laser cutter/engraver to complete, with the option of also using 3D printer.
Standards: This project aligns to Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, and Florida CPALMS Standards for kindergarten.
