Overview
Description: During this project, you will learn about atoms, molecules, and the three phases of matter. Then you will use computer-aided design and 3D printing to construct a model that demonstrates the differences between the three phases of matter. This project includes two lessons: The Three Phases of Matter and The Design Process. This project was developed in partnership with MakerGirl and takes approximately two hours to complete.
Standards: This project aligns to International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for third grade through fifth grade, Next Generation Science Standards for fifth grade, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for third grade, and Florida CPALMS Standards for third grade and fifth grade.

Learning Outcomes
Students will…
Recognize the connection between 3D printing and chemistry.
Construct a model that represents the three phases of matter.
Create a computer-aided design.
Use and share makerspace equipment safely.
